Quran Learning with Tajweed and Tafseer
Quran was descended upon Final Prophet (ﷺ) in Arabic language, which is the mother tongue of Arabs. Allah says in Quran:
إِنَّا أَنْـزَلْنَاهُ قُرْآنًا عَرَبِيًّا لَعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُون
“Indeed, We have sent it down as an Arabic Qur’an that you might understand.” (12:2)
It is about those times when Quran was revealed on Holy Prophet upon the land of Arabs, so that the people could easily apprehend the knowledge of Quran but for the non-Arabs it is difficult to understand as such and that is why translations are made.
Complete Quran translation is available in about 47+ languages and some selected verses are being translated in 114+ languages and used at different places as for referral purposes. These translations are mainly done to learn the real essence of Allah’s word. It is merely the miracle of Quran that despite of it being translated in so many different languages, it is yet preserved as such since ages and ages, unlike other divine books. Previous divine books are not found in their original languages as were they descended in and thus each translation is new version of its kind.
About the Quran Allah says in Quran:
إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا الذِّكْرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُ لَحَافِظُونَ
“Indeed, it is We who sent down the Qur’an and indeed, We will be its guardian. (15:9)”
So Quran is revealed by Allah and He Himself will protect it till end. No matter how many times and in how many languages Quran gets translated in, it will forever be preserved in its original language and true meaning.
All non-Arabs have to read and memorize Quran in Arabic. This is because Quran is Kalaam (speech) from Allah on his beloved Prophet (ﷺ). Also because Quran in its original Arabic script has a huge blessing conferred in it which facilitates millions of Muslim men and women commit to memorize it by heart. Translation in any other language does not have such charm. But yes, need of translation is there for thoughtful understanding.
In the times of today, Quran reading at the young age and forming its completion ceremony has become a norm. Mostly its seen that once kids complete reading whole Quran in the minimum time period, both kids and their parents think that life time achievement is being attained now and they are free from any further religious’ obligations. Whereas the main lifetime achievement is to understand Quran, practicing and organizing lives according to Quran. The need is to comprehend Quran as the complete code of life.
Learning to read Quran is not enough. The other essential learning gears are Tarteel, Tajweed and Tafseer of Quran. These are the necessities of Quran learning which are usually neglected in the earliest learning stage of childhood. Parents just rush after their kids to complete Quran in the shortest possible time span. But now you don’t need to be worried as opportunity is still there for you to start your Quran learning by conquering in-depth meaning and try to read it with proper tarteel and tajweed.
